Mobile Car AC Repair & Recharge in North Dallas
Texas summers are unforgiving. When your air conditioning starts blowing warm, OMW Auto comes to your home or office with the same recovery, vacuum, and recharge equipment a dealership uses — no waiting room, no tow bill, no week-long appointment slot. We service Celina, Prosper, Allen, McKinney, Plano, Anna, and Frisco.
What we do on-site
- R134a recharge — full evacuation, vacuum hold test, and recharge by weight for pre-2015 vehicles.
- R1234yf recharge — yes, we carry the newer refrigerant and the certified equipment to handle it on most 2015+ vehicles.
- Leak detection — UV dye and electronic sniffer to find Schrader valve, O-ring, condenser, and evaporator leaks.
- Compressor & clutch replacement — including drier, orifice tube/expansion valve, and system flush.
- Condenser & line repair — replacement of damaged condensers and high/low side lines in your driveway.
- Blower motor & cabin air — weak airflow, noisy blower, or musty smell? We diagnose and replace on-site.
R134a vs. R1234yf — which one is in your car?
Most vehicles built before model year 2015 use R134a. From 2015 onward, manufacturers began transitioning to R1234yf, a lower-global-warming refrigerant required on virtually every new vehicle sold in the US today. The two are not interchangeable, and the equipment to service them is different. A lot of quick-lube and chain shops still aren't set up for R1234yf — we are.
Common signs your AC needs service
- Air is cool at highway speed but warm at a stoplight
- You hear the compressor clutch clicking on and off rapidly
- A musty smell from the vents when the AC turns on
- Weak airflow even at the highest fan setting
- Oily residue around AC fittings, condenser, or under the dash
- System was "topped off" last year and is already weak again
Why mobile AC service makes sense in Dallas
AC work is one of the worst repairs to drop your car off for: you lose the car for a day or more in 110-degree heat, and shops often book a week out in July. We come to your driveway with a recovery machine, vacuum pump, refrigerant scale, manifold gauges, and both R134a and R1234yf on board. Most diagnostics and recharges finish in under two hours.
FAQ
Can you recharge R1234yf refrigerant at my house?
Yes. We carry both R134a and R1234yf on the van and use a certified recovery/recharge machine for each.
How do you find an AC leak in a mobile setup?
UV dye plus an electronic leak detector after pulling a vacuum. Most leaks at Schrader valves, O-rings, condensers, and evaporator cores can be diagnosed on-site within an hour.
Can a compressor be replaced in my driveway?
On most vehicles, yes. We recover refrigerant, replace the compressor, drier, and orifice tube or expansion valve, pull a deep vacuum, and recharge — same procedure a shop follows.
Do you service Celina, Prosper, Allen, McKinney, and Plano?
Yes — all of North Dallas, with no travel fee inside the standard service area.
